Who: married couples ages 35 - 55 who DON’T HAVE THE TIME (or desire) TO MANAGE THEIR FINANCIAL LIVES THEMSELVES AND WHO VALUE EXPERT GUIDANCE.

What: a discovery call. THis is nothing more than a time to get to know each other, explain my approach and fees charged, and answer any/all questions you may have. If things sound like a mutual match, we’ll discuss where to go from there.

Why: To help you (and me) make an informed decision about working together

Become PART OF THE FAMILY

I take an intentional approach to working with new OPFA Families and it starts with the Discovery call mentioned above. I accept only 1-2 new families each month. This is part of the intentional approach. It allows me to give all OPFA Families the same level of care and attention. This is important to me, and I hope for you as well.

HOW DO i KNOW IF I’M A GOOD FIT?

straightline.jpg

Typical OPFA Families are typically:

  • 35 - 55 year old married couples

  • Diligent savers looking to make sense of and maximize their financial lives

  • People who don’t have the time to manage their financial lives themselves and who value expert guidance

  • coachable and looking for accountability around your finances

  • looking for a long-term relationship with a financial planner (cheesy dating cliche I know but it's true)

  • comfortable working virtually with your financial planner/advisor

how much do you charge?

I charge $8000 per year. This is payable quarterly in advance. This includes ongoing financial planning and advice across your entire financial life. It can also include investment management if you want to delegate that me, but it’s not a requirement if you prefer to (continue to) manage your own investments. I will still provide advice and guidance across all of your investments.

The fee also includes access via referral to a wide network of professionals across other areas of your financial life: CPA’s, attorneys, mortgage lenders, real estate agents, recruiters, business owners, etc.

+ How does OnPlane Financial Advisors Make Money?

OPFA is a fee-only financial planning firm. On top of that, I use a flat-fee structure which means it's a transparent and easy to understand line item on every one of your statements. No commissions here. The ONLY source of compensation is from OPFA Families, and OPFA Families alone.

A transparent, flat fee includes ongoing retirement and financial planning PLUS the management of all your investment accounts. The goal is to lower your taxes, reduce risk, and make sure you can retire without worry.

No investments yet? No worries. The transparent, flat fee (payable monthly or quarterly) provides expert financial planning geared to supercharge your savings and help you grow your investments.

Schedule your first phone call with us and find out if we're a good fit to work together. This will help you make an educated and informed decision about working with OnPlane Financial Advisors and others you may be considering.

+ Do You Offer an Hourly or One-Time Project Fee Option?

My goal is to form decades-long partnerships with OPFA Families and be someone they trust and want to be around for all those years. Hourly fee or one-time project fee options don’t create the types of relationships I'm looking to establish. If you’re looking a for a financial planner that can handle those arrangements, let me know and I’ll do my best to connect you with a planner that would be a better fit.

+ How Are You Different Than Other Financial Advisors?

The flat fee model is a big differentiator. An assets-under-management (AUM) fee model is the standard in our industry. It wasn’t the right fit for my firm.

I limit the number of OPFA Families I take on to deliver massive value and personalized service. In addition to that, OPFA is designed to stop accepting new families at a certain threshold so our Families know we’ll never get too big for our britches and you’ll never get handed off to another advisor.

I invest in industry-leading technology to simplify OPFA Families’ lives and make their financial lives easier.

+ Why OnPlane Financial Advisors?

I love this question. First, let me tell you who shouldn’t hire us: Ostriches. Financial Advisors & Ostriches DO NOT work well together. Meetings won't happen, you'll put off doing the work and honestly we'll likely end up wasting each others time - and some of your money.

Also, if you’re looking for an advisor who will trade your investments in an attempt to “beat the market” then yeah, we’re also not a good fit. Why? We only focus on financial factors you can control. And trying to predict whether the market will go up or down or when interest rates are going to go up? Not factors we have any control over.

But hey, if you like things like lower tax bills, smarter investing, and maximizing your financial life then you’re in the right place.
